What is an ATS, and why does your resume score matter?
An Applicant Tracking System (ATS) is the software most mid-size and large companies use to collect, parse, and rank resumes before a recruiter reads them. - Mirror the language of the job description, use the exact keywords where they truly apply.
- Use standard headings: Experience, Education, Skills.
- Start every bullet point with a strong action verb (Led, Built, Improved, Drove).
- Quantify your impact: "cut load time 40%," "managed a $2M budget," "grew signups 3×."
- Keep formatting simple, no tables, text boxes, or images in the body.
