How to use these examples without sounding generic

The single biggest risk of using bullet templates is that recruiters see the same phrasings on hundreds of resumes. Use these as structure inspiration, not verbatim copy. Every bullet should be adapted to your real work.

The 3-step adaptation formula

  1. Copy the structure, not the content. Keep the action verb and the "what → how → outcome" pattern. Replace the specifics.
  2. Substitute your real numbers. If a template says "increased revenue by 22%," replace with your actual metric ("increased trial conversion by 14%"). Never keep numbers you didn't achieve.
  3. Adjust the language to match the job. If the job description says "cross-functional collaboration," use that phrase; if it says "stakeholder alignment," use that.

Anatomy of a strong bullet

[Action verb, past tense] + [what you did, specifically] + [measurable outcome]

Example: "Reduced page load time 62% by rewriting the checkout flow in React Server Components, contributing to $180K in recovered annual revenue."
